Even in an age marked by widespread indifference to spiritual things, there is real cause for hope. A growing number of people carry within them a genuine hunger for God Himself. They are not content with secondhand explanations or theological correctness alone — they crave direct encounter. Their longing runs deeper than information; it is a thirsting for God that only communion with the living God can satisfy.
These seekers want more than accurate teaching about God — they want to experience Him personally. They long to taste, in their own hearts, the profound sweetness of Christ’s love, the very love the prophets foretold and the psalmists celebrated in song. For them, truth without intimacy falls short of what their souls are asking for.
Meanwhile, plenty of teachers remain able to explain the fundamentals of Christian belief. Yet too many are content to repeat the basics year after year, seemingly unaware that their own ministry lacks any tangible sense of God’s presence and that nothing in their personal walk sets them apart. They continue shepherding people whose deep hunger for God is left unmet by lessons that never move past the surface.
Words alone cannot nourish a hungry soul — only God Himself can.
Until listeners move beyond hearing truth to actually encountering God, the teaching profits them little. Scripture was never meant to be the destination; it exists to lead people into a real, personal, and transformative relationship with God — one where they know Him, not merely know about Him.
